Medinol has pioneered a revolutionary approach to electrospinning technology in which bioresorbable fibers are impregnated with a rapamycin analog. The concentration, elution curves and resorption rate are all independently tunable yielding a fully customizable drug delivery platform. The benefit of incorporating this technology on a stent is drug delivery across the entire surface of the vessel – not just at the point of strut contact – and the ability to deliver therapeutic doses to the vessel with a much lower concentration of drug providing for a better and safer DES.
