We are proud to share that the Journal of Cardiac Failure has published the first-in-human study of a novel left atrial pressure sensor: The Microtech LVAD Study đź«€
This single-arm study evaluated the anatomic stability, safety, and usability of a novel implantable pressure sensor in patients undergoing LVAD implantation. The sensor, submillimeter in size, passive, and interrogated via ultrasound, was successfully implanted in 4 patients without device-related complications.
Key findings:
âś” 92.7% successful readings across all attempts
âś” Measurements showed good agreement with invasive reference methods
âś” Initial data supports safe use and promising accuracy
The study is ongoing and will enroll up to 15 patients to further assess safety and performance.
